If you keep trying to change your password but it's not taking, you're probably changing it in the wrong place. There are two places you can change your password: in Stardog Cloud (the portal), or within your Stardog endpoint itself. Many users get tripped up changing one and thinking they're changing the other.
To change your password for the portal, log out and click "Forgot password?". If you're using SSO, you'll reset your password with your identity provider. This password cannot be reset via the CLI or Studio.
To see how to change your password for your user within your Stardog endpoint, see this docs page. This can be done via the CLI or Studio, as the linked docs page notes.
Analogy
This is a silly analogy, but some users find it helpful for understanding the distinction between the two systems.
Suppose you had a Facebook account and played a bunch of games (like Farmville) through your account. You would log in to Facebook (Stardog Cloud), and then you have a separate user within each game (your user within each Stardog endpoint), each of which has its own username and password (the credentials for the Stardog user). You wouldn’t expect changing your Facebook password to change the credentials for each of your users within all the games you play. To change those passwords, you have to do so within the respective game.
